2006 Reserve Shiraz Wins Award for Best Australian Wine at 2009 Japan WINE Challenge

The Fox Creek 2006 Reserve Shiraz has just been awarded Best Australian Wine at the 2009 Japan WINE Challenge. The Award was presented by HIH Princess Takamado at the Awards Ceremony held at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. This prestigious award follows on from the 2006 Reserve Shiraz international Gold Medal wins at the 2009 Decanter World Wine Awards and the 2009 International Wine Challenge.

As Steven Spurrier, Consultant Editor, Decanter Magazine and Chairman of Japan Wine Challenge states, “The Japan WINE Challenge is the biggest and most significant international wine competition in Asia. Winning an award here is recognized throughout the wine world as well as helping to ensure positive sales results in Japan.”

Japanese consumers have an impossible choice when making a decision at the point of sale due to the vast array of wines available on the shelves. They thrive on drinking the premium, boutique wines from around the world, especially Australia. The Japan WINE Challenge Trophy Seal endorses the premium quality of the wine helping Japanese consumers to make their choice.

“Fox Creek, as exporters to Japan appreciate the Japan WINE Challenge award as an effective endorsement of our product to help make that endless choice easier for Japanese wine lovers. We are honoured and excited to receive the Award for Best Australian Wine and it continues the winning streak for the 2006 Reserve Shiraz. Soon we are going to run out of room on the bottle for all the award stickers,” says Paul Rogers, General Manager of Fox Creek Wines. “It also helped our Japanese agent, Farmstone, win Best Importer award for the third year in a row.”
