This wine has become extremely popular in restaurants as it is so approachable when young. The aroma is of blackcurrant, mulberry and savoury chocolate. The rich berry flavours develop to a luscious intensity on the middle palate. The wine finishes with soft tannins and balanced acidity.

Fox Creek 2006 Duet Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Vibrant plum colour.

bouquet
Leafy mulberry fruits with cigarbox oak complexity and a hint of chocolate and earthiness.

palate
A soft juicy berry flavoured entry with ripe dark plum, roasted chestnut and balanced ripe tannins. The mid palate is full with blackcurrant and red plum fruits, finishing with length and structure. A rich, ripe, soft and complex wine that is great with meals.

winemaking
The majority of the Cabernet Sauvignon (64%) and Merlot (36%), were sourced from our Malpas Ridge vineyard. Harvest was in March 2006. The Cabernet components were matured in two and three year old American and French oak. The Merlot was barrel fermented in two year old French oak. The wine was matured over a 20 month period.
